The first game after the Thanksgiving break usually shows that there is a little rust to shake off and Tuesday night’s contests fell into that category for Victory Life. However, the Lady Eagles and Eagles were just too much for the overmatched Red River Home School Rattlers.
VLA won the girls’ game 49-15 to move to 2-0 on the season. This is only the second time in school history that the girls’ team has won its first two contests and that’s fairly interesting considering the really good teams that have come through in the 2000’s. 10 out of 11 players scored, led by Meagan Woodall with 10. Olivia Rustin followed with 8 points and Cassadi Jones and Katy Lehr each had 6.
Victory Life’s boys are also now 2-0 for the year after their 70-49 victory over the Rattlers. Cameron Roesler had 31 points for the Eagles. Dayton Booth put in 20 and Tyler McKinney also had 10.
Next up for VLA is the Rock Creek Tournament which starts on Thursday.
